The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) is a comprehensive healthcare program in India that provides medical facilities to central government employees, pensioners, and other eligible beneficiaries. It offers a wide range of services, including OPD treatments, domiciliary treatment, diagnostic tests, and coverage for AYUSH medicines. CGHS operates through a network of wellness centers, polyclinics, and empanelled private hospitals and diagnostic centers.
For the last six decades Central Government Health Scheme is providing comprehensive medical care to the Central Government employees and pensioners enrolled under the scheme. In fact CGHS caters to the healthcare needs of eligible beneficiaries covering all four pillars of democratic set up in India namely Legislature, Judiciary, Executive and Press. CGHS is the model Health care facility provider for Central Government employees & Pensioners and is unique of its kind due to the large volume of beneficiary base, and open ended generous approach of providing health care. Presently approximately 42 lakh beneficiaries are covered by CGHS in 80 cities all over India and the endeavour is to include more cities to improve the accessibility of the services.
CGHS Beneficiaries Association is a Non-Profitable and Non Political Organization registered under West Bengal Societies Act having Registration No. S/IL/73036 of 2010-11. This Association was established in the year of 2009 with the Primary objective to protect the interest of Beneficiaries under the Central Government Health Scheme ( C.G.H.S.). The Beneficiaries are retired Central Government Employees, Serving Central Government Employees, M.P. and Ex. M.P., Freedom Fighter, Ex. Governor, Judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts, who registered themselves as member of C.G.H.S.. All such categories of Beneficiaries are eligible to become our member.
At present, nearly 1800 CGHS Beneficiaries enrolled themselves as Life Members of this Association. This is comprising of Retired and serving Central Government Employees from all the Departments across the country. This Association have a history of LONG STRUGGLE for establishing a Wellness Centre of Ishapore – Barrackpore area and ultimately achieved all the time we are raising the issues for the range any sufferings of beneficiaries in general. We run a Free Health Check-up Camp every Tuesday at our working Office at OWL Estate Qtr. No. 170, Ishapore and other official work also are being perform from this office.
